At St James, we endeavour to be an inclusive school.
Our children all have the same Learning Outcome in class, but resources are adapted and differentiated questions are used to ensure every child learns at their individual pace and ability. Teaching Assistants support children with these activities and also carry out IEP work. When a child is withdrawn for 1:1 or small group IEP intervention work, the target applies to class as well, so that the child has to apply their skills in all situations to embed their learning.
Our nurture group also aims to develop the social inclusion of some of our more vulnerable children.
As a result of the recent informal consultation sessions across the borough we are now in a position to provide you with the opportunity to make comments on the proposals. All schools will be displaying the statutory proposals notice clearly highlighting the appropriate ways to share your views. Complete proposals can be obtained from Carol Douthwaite – Administration Manager – SEN Team. EDC, Pelsall Lane, Walsall, WS4 1NG. Tel: 01922 686377
