A Message from our Executive Headteacher – Mr Andy Nicholls
Welcome to our website…
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to St James Primary School, in particular our first time visitors who would like to find out a little more about us.
We are an open and welcoming school set within a strong local community. Our school caters for children of two years of age in our Little Stars groups, nursery aged children in our Shooting Stars groups, and children from the ages of four to eleven in our main school provision.
At St James School we have a committed team of staff who create a happy, welcoming and secure environment. Our children love coming to school and make the most of the opportunities provided to them. We aim to engage all members of the school community in learning, in school life and to celebrate our successes together! We believe that the partnership between parents or carers and the school is vital and we actively encourage the community to become involved in the life of our school.
Our core moral purpose is encapsulated in our new school vision statement for 2016:
‘Choose well, Be proud, Ignite possibilities … together’
We are passionate about our children having choices and opportunities and learning to make the right choices for themselves. We believe children should be proud of their achievements, of who they are as individuals, of their school, their work and their local community. At St James we aspire to provide children with the confidence to explore the opportunities presented to them and develop their aspirations, hopes and dreams. With a focus on personal development and through experiencing and trying new things, our aim is to inspire all learners to go beyond what they consider possible for themselves and to realise all aspects of their potential.
We recognise that the real strength in our school community comes from working together and understanding how to support each other. By working alongside families, we strive to explore ways of providing as many opportunities as possible throughout their journey through St James by planning these into our curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities.
Visitors to our school always comment on the welcoming ethos, so please do take the time to visit us if you can. Happy browsing!
Thank you for visiting!
