Week 13

Friday 10th July

Happy Friday,

Well we reached the end of the week and I’m really impressed with the work I have seen. Well done everyone. We had a great day in school yesterday too.

You have one week left of being in Year 3! What a strange year we have had and how quickly it has gone by.

Today’s work is below, please complete it all and send me lots of pictures.

Have fun today.

Miss T xx

Yesterday’s daily challenge

Did you find all 12 difference?

There may have been more than 12 differences. wink

Daily Challenge

Two of these trees are identical, can you find them? They might not be facing the same direction.

Answers at the bottom of today’s work.

Maths

Today you will be completing page 25 of your home learning book and will be using your inverse and estimation skills.

To use the inverse use the slide below:

Use this slide to help you remember how to estimate a number:

For an extra challenge, have a go at these:

English

Today I would like you to complete pages 54 and 55 in your home learning books. You will be working on prefixes and suffixes; we spent a lot of time in class learning about these.

If you need to remind yourselves about them, I have included some information and a slide below.

A root word is a basic word with no prefix or suffix added to it. A prefix is a string of letters that go at the start of a word; a suffix is a string of letters that go at the end of a word. By adding prefixes and suffixes to a root word we can change its meaning.

For example:

Root word             prefix                     suffix

Decorate               redecorate            decoration

Regular                  irregular               regularly

After you have completed your pages, have a go at this wordsearch.

Fun Challenge

I would like you to have a go at building a raft or boat . The first thing you need to do is pick a toy that you are going to place on the raft. Your raft or boat must float long enough to get your toy from one side of a tub to another. Use these slides to help you.

Show me your pictures on ClassDojo for extra dojos and to be included in our Friday highlights.

Get Moving

Make sure you take time each day to get some exercise. You could play football or bounce on a trampoline. You could follow Joe Wicks' routines or do some Cosmic Yoga using the links below:
