Week 14

Friday 17th July

Well my wonderful Year 3,

Today is the last day I can call you Year 3. I am so incredibly proud of you all and super excited for September when we will all be back together in school. Our classroom will look a bit different, but I will send you pictures nearer the time so that you can see what it will look like.

Even though it is the last day of term there is still learning to do, there are a few extra fun things to do. Please complete as much as you can. Send me pictures for our last Year 3 Facebook highlights.

You have really impressed me with your home learning. It isn’t easy to work at home and I think you have all done excellently. A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who have supported me and helped you with your learning. Thank you for all the messages, pictures and smiles over the past few months, it has really kept me going.

I hope you have a great summer. If you need something to do have a look on our class page on the website, there are lots of ideas. Try and read every day.

Have a tremendous day. I will put our final point total on ClassDojo later so look out for that.

Stay safe, keep helping at home and I will see you all very soon.

Lots of love Miss T xx

Yesterday’s Challenge

Did you find Wally?

Daily Challenge

Can you spot the 12 differences between these pictures? Answers will be at the bottom of today’s work.

Maths

Please complete pages 14 and 15 in your home learning book, you will be answering questions using numbers on a scale.

First you need to work out what scale is being used. Does it go up in 10s, 20s or 100s?

English

For English today I would like you to complete page 51 in your home learning book. You will be focusing on your handwriting. Try your best to make it look beautiful and please, use your joined-up writing. Look carefully at how the letters are joined.

I have included a slide to remind you of how it should look.

Fun Challenges

As we end this year, it is a good time to look back and reflect on our time in Year 3. It has been a strange one! I would like you to create a poster thinking about the things you have enjoyed about Year 3 and things that you are looking forward to in Year 4.

You make your poster look however you would like but I have included some ideas to help you. You can take bits from both slides and create just one poster.

Or have a go at this wordsearch.

Or have a go at this challenge:

Can you think of something you have learnt this year that starts with every letter of the alphabet?

Did you find all the differences?

Have a great summer!

Thursday 16th July

Hello Year 3,

Well only two days left of Year 3. What a strange Year 3 we have had. I'm looking forward to September when I will finally be able to see you all again.

Today's work is below, there is an English activity and a Maths one. The fun challenge is one of my favourites. You will be able to use it with all the books you are going to read over the six week break wink.

Have a wonderful Thursday.

Miss T xx

Yesterday’s Challenge

Did you manage to find the lollipop hiding among the ice creams?

Daily Challenge

Can you find Wally?

Maths

Today I would like you to complete pages 12 and 13 in your home learning book. You will be focusing on partitioning. This is an area of Maths that you hopefully feel comfortable with but we need to keep using these skills.

This is what partitioning looks like:

Read each question carefully.

English

Today you will be reading a non-fiction text on pages 44 and 45 in your home learning book. It is about Ancient Egypt, a topic we are very familiar with. The questions for this text are on pages 46 and 47 of your home learning book.

If a question asks for three words, you must find three words. It is important that you understand what the question is asking you to do.

Read the questions carefully.

Fun Challenge

Today you are going to make a bookmark. It involves a bit of folding (not much!) and you can create lots of different designs that are really fun. You could make them into animals or monsters. You could make them for everyone in your home. You could even teach an adult how to make them.

Use these slides to help you:

Show me your pictures on ClassDojo for extra dojos and to be included in our Friday highlights.

Get Moving

Make sure you take time each day to get some exercise. You could play football or bounce on a trampoline. You could follow Joe Wicks' routines or do some Cosmic Yoga using the links below:

Send me pictures on ClassDojo.

Reading

It is important that you are reading for at least 15 minutes each day. You could read comic books, magazines or books. There are lots of books on Bug Club for you to use too. You will get dojos for showing me that you are reading. You could send me a photo of your reading record filled in.

Times tables

Don't forget to practice your times tables on TT Rockstars or Supermovers (main Year 3 page). Challenge each other and me! It's a great way to improve your maths skills.
