Week 5- 4.5.20

On Friday it is the 75th anniversary of the end of the 2nd World War in Europe- Victory in Europe.

We cannot celebrate at school as we had planned but it is important that we remember it. I am adding some resources that you can use to help you learn more about it and at the end of the week I would like you to write a report on Purple Mash. Your families might be planning something for Friday and I would love to hear how you have remembered it.

Thursday 7th May

Morning year 5, the weather has certainly picked up a bit hope you are enjoying a bit of sunshine and feeling good! smiley

Joke for today.

If I had 6 oranges in one hand and 7 apples in the other, what would I have?

BIG HANDS!laughlaugh

For today's learning, as well as your maths and Literacy, we are remembering VE Day which is tomorrow. I know Miss Randle has put some ideas up and I have also added some so take your pick!

Wednesday 6th May

Hi children. Today you will be learning to round decimals in Maths and learning new vocabulary in English. Your topic work will be to learn more about VE day.

VE Day

Look at the pictures on the link below. Think about these things:

* what are the people doing?

* Where are the pictures taken?

* How do the people feel?

* What would it have been like to have been there on that day/night?

Tuesday 5th May

Morning children. Thank you to the children who sent me their work yesterday; I was very impressed at how many of the VE day activities some of completed.

I have given you another task today to crack the morse code messages. Can you send me a message on Class Dojo and I will try and work it out!

We are starting a new Talk for Writing unit this week. It is called:

Meet the Rhi-swano-zeb-tah

Some of you will be looking at a different story called The Stone Trolls. I will let you know if you are doing this text.
