Week 8- 1.6.20

Friday 5th June

Happy Friday everyone.  I have seen some absolutely amazing poems year five, I really am very impressed.  Today, there is a story for you to read (you can follow the link and listen to the story too.)  The focus today is on vocabulary.  I hope you all have a good weekend.

Hi Year 5,

Today we will continue learning about area. Some of the questions are a little bit tricky so use the scales carefully to help you. Remember to share your work with us. Have a wonderful weekend.

Friday 5th June

Hi Year 5. I have been keeping up with the fantastic work you have been doing this week. I have been impressed with the science work you have completed on forces. Today I am setting you a practical activity to make a paper helicopter to investigate air resistance which is a type of force. Have a lovely day. I'm missing you all.

Hi Year 5. Hope everyone is well and mums, dads and carers too! I have been sent some amazing work that you have done that the other teachers have set you. I also saw some excellent science work on forces. I am setting another piece of science today which about how we measure forces. Please let me know how you get on with it.

Well done to Adam, Bray , Leo and Stephanie for reading on Bug Club so far this week and to Lacey, Evie, Stephanie and Mateusz for completing some amazing work and sending it to me. So proud of you.

Have a good day and keep up the good work. Ms R x

Thursday 4th June

Good morning Year 5 hope you and your family are well and have enjoyed a great half term, we have certainly been lucky with the weather. smiley

I have put your activities up to have a go at and as usual I would love to see how you've got on, so please send me any work and I will put up your dojo points.

I bet you have missed my daily Thursday joke, so here it is!

Why was the broom running late?

It over- swept! laughlaugh

Wednesday 3.6.20

Hi everyone.  Today I would like you to proof read, edit and improve your poems.  Please write up the completed poem(s) in your best handwriting.  You could then practise reading it out loud.  I can't wait to see the finished pieces of writing.

Hello All,

I have been so impressed with the work I have been sent so far. Well done laugh. Today we will continue with learning about the area of shapes but it is a bit trickier so use the explanation sheet to help you.

Don't forget to send us pictures of your work, it makes us smile.

Have a good day.

Tuesday 2.6.20

Good morning year five.  In English today, I would like you to write a poem based on the model on the PowerPoint.  Please do upload your poems onto class Dojo or email me/Mrs Randle a photo/ copy.  I am really excited to see what you produce as I know you are all talented writers in year 5.

Take care everyone,

Miss B X

Hi Year 5,

In Maths you will be learning a new way of measuring the area of a square. Please have a go at the challenges too - I'm excited to see how much you have learned since Year 3. I'm going to be on TT Rockstars today so if anyone wants to challenge me to a Rock Slam, come on over.

Remember to send us photos of your work on ClassDojo - we love to celebrate how hard you have worked.

Have Fun

Monday 1st June

Hello Year 5

How are you all? I hope you have had a lovely week and have enjoyed the beautiful weather. As I told you before the holiday, I will be in school teaching Year 6 from today and so Miss Thorpe will be setting your Maths work and Miss Blakeman will be setting your English work. I will set you some topic and science activities regularly and I will still be looking at the amazing work you are doing. You can still message me on Class Dojo and send me your work but you can also contact Miss Thorpe and Miss Blakeman on class dojo about the activities they have set. You can also email them. I will text out their email addresses. I miss you all and can't wait to see you all again.

Love Ms Randle x
