Week beginning 8.6.20

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that I have scheduled a Zoom meeting next Thursday at 11am for all the children in year 4.  I have uploaded a letter to explain how you can access the meeting.  The first session will just be a chat and an opportunity for the children to see each other and us.  I will be hosting the session with Miss Hill.  I can't wait to see everybody next week.

Happy Friday everyone.  Hope you are all well.  I hope you are all downloading Zoom in preparation for the meeting next week- I can't wait to see you all and talk to you!

Today's home learning is all about verbs for English.  I have uploaded some extra activities if you need more practice.  In maths, we are looking at translation which is all about moving objects on a grid.  In topic, you will be learning about how Roman roads are made.  Hopefully, you have some science experiment results today from earlier in the week- please do send me your photos!  If you didn't get chance to do the experiment the results are on the science video- just follow the link.

Thursday 11.6.20

Hi everybody.  In English today we will be looking at adjectives and describing an object using adjectives.  Remember you can use a Thesaurus to help you find some exciting adjectives.  In maths, you can choose between two activities.  There is a sheet called cafe coordinates which is more practice locating points on a grid.  There is also a more challenging sheet (and I have uploaded the answers.)  For topic, please look at the PowerPoint and video.  There will be an activity tomorrow to complete.  Have a great day. X

Wednesday 10.6.20

Good morning everyone.  Today we will be looking at characters and settings in English.  I hope you managed to understand coordinates yesterday.  I have uploaded a fun emoji activity using coordinates.  You just need to plot the points on the grid and join the lines to reveal a picture.  In science, we are looking at the effects of sugar on your teeth.  On the PowerPoint, is a simple experiment that you can do at home.  Please send me some photos of your results when you get them.

Tuesday 9.6.20

Good morning year four.  Today we will be continuing with our writing project in English.  For maths, you will be learning how to describe a point on a grid.  Just remember - go along the corridor before you go up the stairs! (See PowerPoint.)  In topic, we will be looking at Roman roads.  There is a PowerPoint and a BBC Bitesize clip.  Please write down 5 facts you have learnt about Roman roads -more if you want to.  You can display the facts how you want.
